Meet the Owner

Master Esthetician Celia McCoy

Hello! My name is Celia McCoy. I am a Georgia Board Licensed and Insured Master Esthetician.

I first received my training at the Health and Style Institute in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2021, I went on to further my education at The Chrysm Institute of Esthetics in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There, I received my NCEA Certified credentials, meaning I am a nationally certified provider, having obtained the highest recognized education for advanced skincare and medical grade esthetics making me a Master Esthetician; highly knowledgeable in my craft.

I have been in the skincare industry for more than 6 years. I first started as a makeup artist for film and theatre back in 2014 until I discovered my true passion was skincare. Growing up, I struggled with my own complexion and cystic acne. There was not much out there for treatment at that time and it was a constant struggle. I know what that can do for a young woman’s self-esteem. It wasn’t until I truly researched product ingredients, and dedicated myself to a regimen that I gained control and eliminated what did not work for me.

Consistency is key. It is something I truly believe in, and I educate my clients who are looking to get the most out of their complexion. I set myself apart by incorporating a truly relaxing experience as well as provide a result-oriented approach with the use of potent botanicals and pure ingredients. I strongly believe that in order to have great looking skin, one must commit themselves to consistent treatments paired with a daily skincare regime.

My methods reflect my values in holistic and powerful based ingredients meeting custom tailored care for every individual. There has to be a mutual trust in the relationship built by client and professional. Each client has different needs and I deeply believe the key to achieving the best results for them is listening to their unique needs, using top of the line professional products, and building a successful treatment plan.

As a Master Esthetician, I specialize in the holistic approach for anti-aging treatments, as well has hyperpigmentation from the decades of picking, acne scars, and sun damage. As a green thumb and botanist, myself, I realize there is so much that nature have to offer, and often times when it is paired with scientific backed study it provides a magical result.

During the time of Covid, estheticians had to be quick on their feet, maintain their career paths, as well as, learn to adapt and change. During my Master Esthetics Training, Covid was at its peak. There were new protocols that were evolving and if I wanted to succeed, I had to stay current but also maintain safety at its core. I learned that people still wanted to feel beautiful but minimize the risk of infection.

I moved back to Atlanta in 2022 to be closer to family. I renovated my home, made a private entrance, and truly dedicated my dream of owning my own business and made it a reality. The reason I chose to operate as a home-based business is because I have total control over the level of cleanliness, quietness, professionalism, and services provided. The Skin Mage Spa opened in February of 2023.

The word “Mage” comes from the Latin word Magi/Magus, meaning scholar, priest, magician, or wizard and was a term of endearment given to me by both a colleague as well as a beloved family member. The name truly does define me as an esthetician and my spa’s apothecary-like approach.

In all sincerity, I feel like a skin wizard! I chose this field to empower, educate, engage, and encourage some “magic” into people and prove that it is possible to feel good in your own skin. It takes a considerable amount of time and care; however, it is a beautiful and powerful way to give back and pour love into people’s lives. Self-care is so important and unfortunately it is one of the most overlooked and canceled rituals. I strive to teach, heal, and remind those that we need to invest in ourselves. It is not selfish. It is very much needed. There is an energy one gains when we stop, rest, respect the pause on life’s demands, and rejuvenate our true self. I believe my career delivers more than skin deep care. I get to change lives and I could not be more grateful.
